LAKE NONA, FLA. — The Sacred Heart women's tennis team fell 5-2 to University of North Carolina Wilmington on Tuesday at the USTA Campus.
The Seahawks claimed the early advantage by taking the doubles point.
In singles play, Sacred Heart battled throughout the lineup and earned a pair of victories. Savita Bagirathan delivered a clutch performance at No. 3 singles, winning a tightly contested match in a third-set super tiebreaker to put the Pioneers on the board. Malena del Olmo added another point for Sacred Heart with a hard-fought three-set victory at No. 6 singles.
Despite the strong efforts, UNC Wilmington secured wins across the remaining singles courts to close out the match.
