Four Pioneers Secure Wins at ITA Regionals

Darius Efetekhar earned wins at both singles and doubles play
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Sacred Heart men's tennis team traveled to Yale to compete in the ITA Regionals this weekend. Four men picked up a win on Friday to return on Saturday for round two.
In singles play, Lefteri Apostolou secured the win on Friday against Nick Suhanitski of Marist with a score of 6-1 and 7-5 but fell to Harvard Saturday. Darius Efekhar defeated Mark Kroell of Stonehill 7-5 and 7-3 but fell to Dartmouth on Saturday. Enrique Leannec came out on top of Charles Roberston of Merrimack 6-3 and 6-3.
In doubles play, Matyas Vencl and Darius Eftekhar defeated Fordham 8-1 but fell to Yale 8-5 on Saturday.
Up Next: The Pioneers travel to Middletown, Conn. to compete in the Wesleyan Invitational on October 15thand 16th for their last fall competition.
