Pioneers pick up first win of spring season
WEST POINT, N.Y – The Sacred Heart University men's tennis team defeated St. Bonaventure University in decision Saturday afternoon, 4-0.
The Pios secured the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3. Connor Liona and Brennan Hart-Nova dominated No. 3 doubles with a 6-0 result. Antoine Hernandez and Paul Goncalves battled to secure the point, winning 7-5.
Antoine Hernandez defeated Davis Matney at No. 3 singles 6-2, 6-0.
At No. 4 singles, Paul Goncalves dominated the first set 6-0 and secured the win in set two, 6-2.
Arya Alla beat Luke Ollivierre 6-4, 6-0, at No. 6.
SHU will head to Rhode Island to face Brown tomorrow, January 25, at 4 p.m.
