Pioneers Knock off Rider in MAAC opener

Pair of three-set singles wins clinch match
FAIRFIELD, Conn. - The Sacred Heart men's tennis team opened MAAC play with a thrilling 4-3 win over Rider.
Enrique Laennec-Baffrey and Antoine Hernandez were both three-set winners in singles for the Pioneers. Hernandez won a third-set tiebreaker 7-5 to win his match.
Victories from the doubles teams of Hernandez and Paul Goncalves and Connor Liona and Brennan Hart-Nova earned SHU a point.
Sacred Heart improved to 3-4 this spring with the win.
