Michelle Bruckner Named Northeast Conference Player-of-the-Week

FAIRFIELD, CT (April 21, 2003) - Senior Michelle Bruckner (Carle Place, NY) was named the Northeast Conference Women's Lacrosse Player-of-the-Week for the week of April 13th through 20th.
The Carle Place, NY native garners NEC Player-of-the-Week accolades after helping the Pioneers pick-up two-league wins over the weekend. Bruckner opened the week scoring two goals in the 10-5 victory over Long Island on Thursday. She then recorded five goals in a 15-13 win over Monmouth on Saturday, handing the Hawks their first conference loss of the season. On the season, Bruckner has 39 points on 33 goals and six assists to lead the Pioneers in scoring
Bruckner and the rest of the Pioneers will close out the regular season with two Northeast Conference road games this weekend. SHU will travel to UMBC on Friday, April 25th and Mount St. Mary's on Sunday, April 27th. Sacred Heart will host the NEC Championship Tournament next week, May 1st and 3rd.
