
Women's Lacrosse Names Team Captains for 2006

FAIRFIELD, CT (May 6, 2005) - Sacred Heart head women's lacrosse coach Laura Korutz announced that junior Candice Celebre (Lake Grove, NY) and sophomore Jessica McDonough (Carmel, NY) have been named team captains for the 2006 season.
Celebre will take over the goalkeeping duties full-time heading into her senior season. The junior from Lake Grove, NY appeared in two games this season and picked-up the win in the LeMoyne game. Celebre played the entire second half and posted three saves in a 15-14 SHU victory. She finished with nine saves in 60 minutes of action this season.
McDonough has played in all 33 games since putting on a Pioneer uniform, starting all but one of those games. She has become a fixture on the SHU defense and this year had 13 caused turnovers with 19 ground balls and seven draw wins. As a freshman, she had 15 grounders, eight caused turnovers and four draw control wins.
