
SHU Women's Lacrosse Names 2007 Captains

FAIRFIELD, CT (August 21, 2006) - Sacred Heart head women's lacrosse coach Laura Cook announced that seniors Jessica McDonough (Carmel, NY) and Maureen Hohn (Lutherville, MD) along with junior Alyssa Harris (Kings Park, NY) have been named team captains for the 2007 season.
McDonough returns to her role as a captain after serving in the same role as a junior. The senior defender started all 18 games defensively for the Pioneers in 2006, guiding the team to a school record 7-1 Northeast Conference mark. McDonough finished the 2006 season with 15 caused turnovers with 23 ground balls. In her three years at Sacred Heart, McDonough has appeared in 51 games with 50 starts.
Hohn has been a mainstay in the Pioneer midfield for the past three seasons. She is coming off a junior season that saw her start 17 games, scoring six goals with eight assists for 14 points. She finished with 23 ground balls, 16 caused turnovers and 10 draw wins. For her career, Hohn has 37 goals, 18 assists and 55 points. She has 89 ground balls to her credit.
Harris has appeared in 26 games with 13 starts in her two-years at Sacred Heart. She scored a pair of goals with an assist, 15 grounders, nine draw wins and five caused turnovers in 2006. As a freshman, Harris tallied eight goals with four helpers for 12 points.
