Liz Ottey Named Enterprise Rent-A-Car / SHU Student-Athlete of the Week

FAIRFIELD, Conn. (March 24, 2008) - Senior women's lacrosse player Liz Ottey (Baltimore, MD) was named the Enterprise Rent-A-Car / Sacred Heart Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of March 17th through 23rd.
Ottey led the Pioneer offensive attack last week scoring six goals with two assists as Sacred Heart posted wins over the NEC's Preseason Co-Favorites Monmouth and Mount St. Mary's. Ottey scored three times in the 12-9 win over the Hawks, once on an 8meter free position shot. Ottey helped SHU open 3-0 and 6-1 leads with first half goals and her third gave the Pioneers an 11-6 lead in the second half. The senior attacker scored five points in leading SHU to an 11-10 win over the Mount. Ottey scored all three of her goals in the first half, hitting again from 8meters, to help the Pioneers build a 7-4 halftime lead. Ottey also set up teammates Mary Montesarchio and Carissa Hauser in the win. Her three goals came on four shots. Ottey is second on the Pioneers with 15 goals, 4 assists and 19 points. She is the team leader in shot % (.517) and from the 8meter free position (9-17).
