Women's Lacrosse Announces 2016 Schedule

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Sacred Heart women's lacrosse program released its 2016 schedule on Tuesday. The Pioneers will play seven home games at Campus Field, beginning with a matchup against Fairfield on March 2.
Sacred Heart will open 2016 with three straight road contests. The Pioneers start at Marist on February 13, followed by games at Holy Cross on February 20 and at Iona on February 24. After hosting Fairfield in the home opener on March 2, the Pioneers travel to UMass Lowell on March 6. Sacred Heart beat the Riverhawks at Campus Field 7-6 last season.
The Pioneers then play three of their next four games at Campus Field. Sacred Heart will take on La Salle on March 18, St. Mary's on March 26, and Brown on April 2. A road game at Binghamton on March 20 is during that stretch as well. The Pioneers open Northeast Conference play on the road, taking on Saint Francis U on April 8 and Robert Morris on April 10. Sacred Heart returns home for a three-game homestand beginning April 15 against Wagner. The Pioneers close the home slate with games against Mount St. Mary's on April 17 and LIU Brooklyn on April 22. Sacred Heart wraps up the season with road games at Central Connecticut State on April 29 and at Bryant on May 1.
Sacred Heart had a 7-9 record in 2015, with a 3-4 record in the NEC.
