
Women's Lacrosse Tabbed Sixth In Preseason NEC Poll

The Sacred Heart University women's lacrosse team was selected sixth in the preseason coaches' poll, released Wednesday, of the league's eight head coaches.
Defending champion Bryant University received five first place votes and is the preseason favorite. Wagner received three first place votes and Robert Morris one, to sit second and third in the poll. Central Connecticut State University, Mount St. Mary's University and Sacred Heart were closely packed in the middle of the poll. LIU Brooklyn and Saint Francis University rounded out the poll in seventh and eighth place respectively.
The Pioneers open the 2015 campaign on Saturday at crosstown rival Fairfield with a 3 p.m. game. The SHU home opener comes on Wednesday, February 18 when it hosts Iona on Campus Field at 3 p.m.
