Joseph Earns NEC Women's Lacrosse Player Of The Week Honors

Sacred Heart University junior Jesslyn Joseph (Bolton, Mass.) was named the Northeast Conference Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week on Monday. She is the first Pioneer to win the honor and the third SHU player to earn a women's lacrosse weekly award.
Joseph, a graduate of Nashoba Regional High School, powered the Pioneers two a pair of wins in the final weekend of the regular season. She finished the week with 12 goals and two assists, for 14 total points. In addition to her offensive efforts, Joseph added 10 draw controls, three ground balls and a caused turnover in the two victories.
In the season finale, a win over Saint Francis, Joseph enjoyed a career day, netting eight goals and an assist, on only 11 shots. She had a season-best six draw controls on the afternoon and caused a turnover in the victory. In the Pioneers win over Robert Morris on Friday, Joseph netted four goals, including the game-winner, and added an assist. She finished that contest with four draw controls and three ground balls.
Joseph finished her junior season tied for the team lead with 34 goals, netting 26 of them in conference games down the stretch. She was second on the team with 37 total points, with two of hre three assists coming in the final weekend. She recorded four or more draw controls in each of the last four games, and had 24 in the final seven games, to give her a team-best 38 for the season. Joseph recorded 18 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers on the season as well.
