
Women's Lacrosse Falls At Robert Morris

The Sacred Heart University women's lacrosse team dropped a 21-5 decision to Northeast Conference host Robert Morris University, Friday afternoon. The loss drops the Pioneers to 2-13 overall and 2-4 in league play, while the Colonials improve to 8-8 on the season and 4-2 in NEC action.
The Pioneers wrap-up the 2018 season on Sunday, when they play at Saint Francis University.
How it Happened
- Hanna Wise opened the scoring, netting an 8-meter goal 62 seconds into the contest
- RMU tied the score 40 seconds later, with its first of a seven-goal run, that put the Colonials in front, 7-1
- Alyssa Pearce scored her first goal of the game, on a pass from Nicole Holer with 13:57 remaining before halftime
- RMU took a 10-3 lead into the intermission
- Pearce opened the second-half scoring at the 26:13 mark
- RMU answerd quickly once again, scoring 33 seconds later as the Colonials scored 10 unaswered goals

- Pearce and Wise both scored twice on the day
- Averi Farhat also had two ponts, with a goal and an assist
- RMU outshot SHU 35-10 on the afternoon
- Dominque Anselmin recorded three draws for SHU
- Paige Hammick made six saves and led the Pioneers with four ground balls and three caused turnovers
- SHU finished with eight CT's ont he day, including a pair from Elizabeth Small
- Katelyn Miller earned the win in net for RMU, with three save in 53:52
- Shannon Lynch had a team-best six points for RMU
