Dana Spires Joins Women’s Lacrosse Staff

Spires brings D1 playing experience.
FAIRFIELD, Conn.— Sacred Heart University women's lacrosse head coach Laura Korutz announced the hiring of Dana Spires as an assistant coach. She brings experience at the Division I level as a student-athlete.
"We are thrilled and excited to name Dana Spires as our assistant women's lacrosse coach," said Korutz. "She brings great energy and passion every day to the program and will be an asset on the sideline for our upcoming season."
Spires' coaching duties will include working with the goalies, practice planning and coordinating travel and social media.
"I am humbled and excited for the opportunity to be a part of the Sacred Heart women's lacrosse program," said Spires. "I am anxiously awaiting my first season as a new coach surrounded by a great group of girls and a highly knowledgeable coaching staff."
Spires comes to Sacred Heart after serving two years as a graduate assistant at Saint Francis. She served as an academic advisor for student-athlete development & academic services for one year before moving to the title of athletic administration assistant.
Prior to Saint Francis, Spires played lacrosse for Monmouth. She played in 15 games while making one start for the Hawks. While at Monmouth, she served as an assistant for the athletics communications & digital media office.
The Medford, N.J. native earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications with a minor in psychology from Monmouth (2019) and a Master's in Education and Leadership Specialization from Saint Francis (2021).
