Pioneers open season at Manhattan on Feb. 11
FAIRFIELD, Conn.— The Sacred Heart University women's lacrosse team released its 2023 schedule on Wednesday. The Pioneers host seven of their contests at Campus Field, including the crosstown rivalry against Fairfield. Sacred Heart also plays two in-state road games.
" We are excited to announce our 2023 Sacred Heart University Women's Lacrosse Schedule," said head coach Laura Korutz. "Our players have had a productive fall season with great growth and development. We look forward to being challenged and competing against top-level completion in and out of conference play this upcoming spring season."
The Pioneers begin the slate with their first five games on the road against opponents from last season, starting at Manhattan on Feb. 11. Sacred Heart returns to the Nutmeg State on Feb. 15 for a matchup with Quinnipiac.
The Pioneers host New Hampshire on Mar. 8 for the home opener, followed by Brown on Mar. 11. Sacred Heart plays both teams for the first time since 2019.
The Pioneers close out non-conference play with its crosstown rivalry contest with Fairfield on Mar. 15. Sacred Heart will look for its first-ever victory against the Stags in the series.
Northeast Conference play starts with back-to-back road games at Saint Francis on Mar. 25 and Central Connecticut State on Mar. 29 before hosting Howard at Campus Field on Apr. 1.
The Pioneers also face new foes in the NEC in Stonehill (Apr. 8) and FDU (Apr. 15). Sacred Heart will wrap up the regular season against Merrimack on Apr. 29.
