Kittredge leads Sacred Heart with season-high three goals
FAIRFIELD, Conn.— The Sacred Heart University women's lacrosse team picked up its first win of the season as it beat UMass Lowell, 10-7, at home on Sunday.

Both teams traded goals in the first quarter until UMass Lowell score two-straight to take the 4-3 lead at the end of the quarter.
Grace Reinold chipped the ball into the net at the 12:53 mark in the second quarter to kick off a 3-0 run to give SHU the lead, 6-4. The River Hawks cut the score to one, but the Pioneers held the advantage at the halftime break, 6-5.
In the third quarter, a goal from Lydia Werlau off the assist from Reinold at the 12:17 mark sparked another 3-0 run for Sacred Heart to extend the lead, 9-5. UMass Lowell responded with a goal of its own before Claire Ferguson flipped in the ball on the free position to make it a 10-6 game.
The fourth quarter saw one goal between the two teams as the River Hawks fired one into the back of the net with five minutes remaining, but the Pioneers were able to hold onto the advantage, 10-7.
Sacred Heart outshot UMass Lowell, 30-20, on the contest. Emma Kittredge and Reinold both recorded season highs in goals. Sydney Colesworthy, Maeve Connolly, Ellie Holt, Ferguson and Werlau notched one goal apiece. Bella Evans picked up a team-leading three groundballs and caused two turnovers.
