Werlau Notches Second NEC Weekly Honors

Senior posted season-high eight goals against Saint Francis
SOMERSET, N.J.— Sacred Heart University women's lacrosse attackman Lydia Werlau earned Northeast Conference Player of the Week honors, announced by the conference on Monday.
The senior averaged 7.0 points, 6.0 goals and 2.0 assists per game in the Pioneers' last two victories. Werlau registered a season-high eight goals against Saint Francis on Saturday during Senior Day.
The native of Brewster, N.Y., received the accolade for the second time this season and third overall in her career. Werlau also earned a POW nod on March 7.
Aileen Hannon of Wagner was selected as Defensive Player of the Week, while Jessica Colalillo of Bryant picked up Rookie of the Week.
The senior finished the 2022 season with 62 points on 47 goals and 15 assists and will return to Sacred Heart for a fifth year in 2023.
