Graduate student recently became the program’s career leader in goals
SOMERSET, N.J.— Sacred Heart University women's lacrosse team member Lydia Werlau earned her first Northeast Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week honors of the season, announced on Monday.
The Brewster, N.Y., native recently became the program's all-time leader in goals, reaching the milestone at Iona on Mar. 1.
Werlau had dominant performances the last two games, scoring a season-high seven goals in SHU's first win of the season against New Hampshire. She later notched four goals against Brown.
This is Werlau's seventh conference weekly accolade. She shares Co-Player of the Week with LIU's Lluna Katz. Saint Francis earned the other two awards with Autumn McHenry getting Defensive Player of the Week and Bella Fisher being named Rookie of the Week.
SHU is back in action on Wednesday as it hosts Fairfield at 3 p.m.
