SHU Continues Winning Ways with Victory Over Howard

Seven Pioneers set milestones
FAIRFIELD, Conn.— The Sacred Heart University women's lacrosse team extended its conference record to 3-0 with a 16-0 victory over Howard on Saturday. The Pioneers remain undefeated in league play for the first time since 2010 when the squad was 9-0.

Of Note
Graduate student Grace Reinold tallied the first three goals in the first quarter followed by graduate student Lydia Werlau who flipped the ball into the net to make it a 5-0 game at the end of the frame.
Sacred Heart saw 10 players score throughout the contest. Lindsay Boyle, Ellie Edwards, Jenna Lively and Sadie Stevens notched the first goal of their collegiate careers. First year Taylor Farace recorded her first-ever hat trick.
Sophomore goalkeeper Lisa Martin collected five saves to reach the 100th career milestone. Sophomore Leah Durkin led the team with a season-high six draw controls, two short of her career high.
The Pioneers outshot the Bison 37-8 and picked up 21 ground balls.
