The grad attack finished with a team-high eight points behind 7 goals and 1 assist
SOMERSET, N.J. – Behind an eight-point performance last week, graduate student Emma Kittredge of the Sacred Heart University women's lacrosse team was named the Northeast Conference (NEC) Player of the Week, as announced by the league Monday afternoon.
Kittredge put up big numbers on the offensive side of the field to lead a playoff-bound Sacred Heart squad to two key wins and help the Pioneers maintain their spot on top of the NEC standings last week. The graduate student poured in seven goals and dished out one assist for the Pios. Kittredge sent home all three of her scores in the opening quarter to give Sacred Heart a 5-2 lead in an eventual 13-7 triumph at Merrimack. She delivered an even more impressive performance on Saturday as she finished with four scores on the afternoon to lift Sacred Heart past Saint Francis U in commanding fashion by way of a 14-5 final.
Kittredge has netted six hat tricks this season, including three in her past four games, as she leads Sacred Heart in goals (31), assists (9) and points (40). She ranks fifth in the league in goals per game (2.38) and is seventh in points per contest (3.08).
The Pioneers are back in action on Saturday, April 20 with a road NEC tilt against Wagner. Opening draw is set for 12:00 PM in Staten Island, N.Y.
