Breitbeill earns first weekly MAAC nod of her career
FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Sophomore defender Madelyn Breitbeil of the Sacred Heart University women's lacrosse team was recognized by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) as being named this week's Defensive Player of the Week, announced by the league Monday afternoon.
Breitbeil recorded a strong defensive performance for the Pioneers last week in conference play forcing a team-high nine caused turnovers, including a season-high five in the home setback to Siena on Saturday. The New Fairfield, Conn. native also scooped up 13 ground balls.
The Pioneers are back in action on Wednesday, April 9th with a home MAAC tilt against Rider at 3PM.
