Black Selected to IWLCA Senior All-Star Game

Maci Black will represent the Pioneers on the Division I roster
FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Sacred Heart University women's lacrosse senior defender Maci Black has been selected to compete in the IWLCA Senior All-Star Game, announced today by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA). Black will represent the Pioneers on the Division I roster, capping off a standout collegiate career with one more game among the nation's top seniors.
The Senior All-Star games will take place on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Tierney Field at USA Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Md. The Division I game, featuring Black and her fellow honorees, will begin at 3:00 p.m. ET, following the Division II (10:00 a.m.) and Division III (12:30 p.m.) matchups. Admission is free for all games, though no live stream will be available.
Black was a defensive anchor for Sacred Heart this season, starting all 16 games. She recorded seven goals and notched two multi-point performances, showcasing her versatility. On the defensive end, Black tallied an impressive 34 ground balls and 26 caused turnovers, ranking second on the team in the latter category. Notably, all seven of her goals came in games where she caused two or more turnovers, underscoring her two-way impact.
Over four standout seasons at SHU, the Spring Lake, N.J. native appeared in 68 games with 64 starts, establishing herself as a dominant defender and reliable contributor. She totaled 115 ground balls, 82 caused turnovers, and added 30 goals and five assists for 35 career points. A two-time game-winner with a .492 shooting percentage, Black earned Northeast Conference Defender of the Year honors in 2024 and consistently ranked among the team's leaders in defensive stats.
