Jamie Tanner scores twice to lead the Pioneers
WEST LONG BEACH, N.J. – The Sacred Heart University women's lacrosse team dropped a 15–5 decision to Monmouth on Wednesday afternoon in non-conference play. Jamie Tanner paced the Pioneers with two goals, while Brooke Gyllenhaal, Taylor Farace, and Melina Lange also found the back of the net.

How It Happened:
Monmouth jumped out to a fast start, scoring six goals in the opening quarter behind two from Marlaina Grimm and another from Olivia Castaldo to take a 6–0 lead after one.
The Hawks added the first goal of the second quarter before Sacred Heart got on the board when Gyllenhaal scored at 10:38. Tanner added another for the Pioneers later in the quarter, and Farace found the back of the net with 1:49 remaining, but Monmouth carried a 10–3 lead into halftime.
Monmouth extended its advantage in the third, opening the half with two quick goals before Grace Curtin scored twice in the frame. Shea Berigan capped the quarter with her third goal of the game to make it 15–3 heading into the fourth.
Sacred Heart closed the game with two fourth-quarter goals, as Lange and Tanner each scored unassisted to round out the scoring.
