Henry matches career-high 10 saves
NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y.— The Sacred Heart University women's lacrosse team came up short at Iona, 17-10, on Wednesday.

Sacred Heart was down 4-1 in the first five minutes of the game, but responded with a 5-1 run off a goal from graduate student Lydia Werlau to take a one-point lead at the end of the first quarter. Back-to-back goals from junior Kelly Nolan and a point with 13 seconds left contributed by graduate student Grace Reinold put the team up, 6-5.
The Gaels came back in front by one in the second before goals from senior Emma Kittredge and sophomore Maci Black brought the Pioneers back in the lead.
SHU held onto the lead for a minute before Iona tallied six unanswered goals, including four in the third while holding the visitors to just one.
Black's second goal at the start of the fourth quarter cut the deficit to three, but Iona brought the game to its final score with four more goals.
The Gaels outshot the Pioneers 35-26 and 27-18 on frame. Iona also won the advantage in draw controls, 23-8.
Black, Nolan, Reinold and Werlau finished with two goals each. Nolan also added a career-high three draw controls and three caused turnovers to her stat line.
For the second time in a row, junior goalkeeper Juliana Henry collected 10 saves, matching her career high.
