Werlau eclipses 200th career point
NEW BRITAIN, Conn.— For the first time since 2012, the Sacred Heart University women's lacrosse team started Northeast Conference play 2-0 after a prevailing 13-3 victory at Central Connecticut State on Wednesday.

Sacred Heart dominated on offense, outscoring the Blue Devils, 9-2, in the first half.
Maggie Araneo, Emma Kittredge, Grace Reinold and Lydia Werlau notched two goals apiece in those 30 minutes.
Werlau also eclipsed the 200th point of her career in the free position. The graduate student did the same thing when she earned her 100th a year ago.
SHU was 3-0 in the third quarter, with all goals coming from a trio of first-years. Emi Waldron tallied her fourth career goal while Ryann Kearns notched her first. Maggie Araneo flipped the ball in the net at the 10:35 mark for her first career hat trick.
Kittredge ended the Pioneers' scoring with her fifth hat trick of the season.
SHU outshot CCSU 42-13, matching its season-high from its road game at Saint Francis.
